Alabama's ranking remains unchanged, No. 8 in Coaches Poll after Kentucky win
Alabama (9-1, 7-0 SEC) went on the road in Week 11 and got a dominant 49-21 victory over Kentucky (6-4, 3-4 SEC). Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to move in the latest Coaches Poll rankings, as the Crimson Tide remained at No. 8. With none of the top-8 teams going down, that isn’t shocking.
Most of the movement came in the teens with teams like Penn State, Ole Miss, Utah and Tennessee all going down to top-15 opponents. Alabama still holds 14-point wins over three top-20 teams too in Ole Miss (No. 14), LSU (No. 15) and Tennessee (No. 19). Will the College Football Playoff committee continue to show those three respect come Tuesday? We’ll find out soon enough.
Next up, Alabama will welcome UT-Chattanooga to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday for the final home game of the regular season. Then in Week 13, the Crimson Tide will be traveling across the state to Auburn to face off against the Tigers in the annual Iron Bowl. And with UA locking up the SEC West on Saturday, the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (according to the Coaches Poll) are the final hurdle to see if they can get back into the Playoff.
