Alabama remains at No. 8 in Coaches Poll after Tennessee win
Alabama (7-1, 5-0 SEC) overcame a 13-point deficit on Saturday to beat Tennessee (5-2, 2-2 SEC) 34-20 inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Despite the impressive second half performance, the Crimson Tide still remain at No. 8 in the latest Coaches Poll, which was released on Sunday following all the Week 8 college football games.
The good news? The Vols remained in the top-25, only dropping five spots from No. 15 to No. 20. That means Alabama now has wins over two top-25 teams, including Tennessee and now No. 11 Ole Miss. LSU is also up to No. 15 with the latest rankings, which means UA will have another opportunity to get a quality win on its resume.
As things sit, the SEC still has six teams ranked in the latest Coaches Poll. In addition to Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee and LSU, you’ve also got Georgia (No. 1) and Missouri (No. 16). Kentucky — another team the Tide play in the coming weeks — is barely on the outside looking in. In other words, things won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
