Alabama Football: Scholarship Chart for 2022
Alabama came up short in the national championship game against Georgia last season. But if we know anything about the program Nick Saban has built in Tuscaloosa, it’s that the Crimson Tide won’t stay down too long. In fact, the 2022 squad is already the projected favorite to win a national title this season.
The reason? Well, there are a few.
For one, Alabama returns both of its coordinators, Bill O’Brien (offensive) and Pete Golding (defensive), for only the third time in the last eight seasons. The other two times were in 2015 and 2020. Want to know what happened in both of those years? The Crimson Tide won a national title.

Another reason can be simplified to this fact: Alabama returns the best offensive player (Bryce Young), defensive player (Will Anderson) and head coach (Saban) in college football. That’s a tough statement to argue against. All the other returning starters, especially on defense, are equally as important though.

On top of that returning talent, the Crimson Tide brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country. That alone would normally be enough to replenish a lot the depth lost to the NFL, but they also signed one of the top transfer classes in the country.
The list includes five potential impact starters with names such as running back Jahmyr Gibbs, wide receiver Jermaine Burton, cornerback Eli Ricks and more. From that side, Alabama injected experience into its roster, a crucial component when attempting to win a championship.
Below, we’ve put together the scholarship charts for Alabama’s offense, defense and special teams.
