As always, the Coaches Poll is a good indicator of what could happen in the latest AP Poll, which always gets released within an hour of each other. After seeing Alabama drop from No. 3 to No. 10 in the Coaches, we also saw the Crimson Tide take a fall in the AP. They also went from being ranked No. 3 in that poll to being ranked No. 10.

Texas, who Alabama lost to on Saturday night, climbed even higher in the AP than it did the Coaches. After checking in at No. 6 in the Coaches on Sunday, the Longhorns are all the way up to No. 4 in these latest rankings from the AP. That’s good for the Crimson Tide’s resume, but there’s a lot of football that needs to be played before anyone should start worrying about quality of losses.

Texas A&M fell out of the top-25 in these rankings, too.

That leaves five SEC teams left. Georgia (No. 1), Alabama (No. 10) and LSU (No. 14) all rank the same in both polls. Tennessee, on the other hand, checks in at No. 11 in the AP after being No. 9 in the Coaches. That means the Volunteers actually dropped in the rankings. Ole Miss checks in a little higher at No. 17 after being ranked No. 19 in the Coaches. The Crimson Tide have a showdown coming up with them in two weeks.
