Alabama (6-1, 4-0 SEC) narrowly escaped Saturday with a 24-21 win over Arkansas (2-5, 0-4 SEC) after being outscored 15-3 in the second half. Yet, the Crimson Tide have still moved up two spots in the latest Coaches Poll, which was released on Sunday morning after all of the Week 7 games.

Granted, a lot of Alabama’s positioning is a result of Oregon and USC both dropping their first games of the 2023 college football season. Still, this is a team that’s at least moving in the right direction when it comes to the rankings after dropping a game to Texas (who also checks in at No. 8 in the latest Coaches Poll) back in the second game of the season.

Alabama’s next opponent — Tennessee — has climbed back into the top-15, which means next Saturday’s rivalry showdown will be a top-15 matchup with a lot at stake. And after the way the Vols beat UA 52-49 last season in Knoxville, I’m sure Tide fans wouldn’t have it any other way. That matchup is set to air on CBS with kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT.
