A former top-50 recruit out of Florence, Alabama, Hurley was rated as the nation’s No. 4 safety, per the On3 Industry Rankings, but he primarily played cornerback for the Crimson Tide. He was considered the No. 50 player in the country and seventh-best player from Alabama in the 2023 class and chose UA over Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Georgia.
The NCAA transfer portal’s 20-day window will open on Monday, December 9, and will close on Saturday, December 28. A second, but brief, 10-day window will open from April 16-25.
Alabama players who have already chosen to transfer include Jehiem Oatis and Keanu Koht.
