Alabama DB Trey Amos plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Alabama cornerback Trey Amos plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Amos is the sixth Crimson Tide player to plan to enter the transfer portal after head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement. Players have an additional 30-day window to transfer with a coaching change. This comes after the 30-day window window in December.
A transfer from Louisiana, Amos played in all 14 games last season and started in a home game against Arkansas. Amos was Alabama’s third cornerback behind starters Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold but has also received reps in the slot. In his fourth year of college, Amos recorded 12 tackles, 0.5 tackle for loss, four pass breakups and one hurry.

With Arnold and McKinstry both turning pro, Amos seemed poised to be a starter for the Tide as a redshirt senior in 2023. Now, he is the third corner to transfer since Saban retired.
