Alabama DL Anquin Barnes to enter NCAA transfer portal
Alabama defensive lineman Anquin Barnes will enter the transfer portal, he announced via social media on Monday evening. His name is not yet officially in the portal, however.
Barnes is a redshirt sophomore for the Crimson Tide who has played in two career games, both coming this fall (Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga). The 6-foot-5, 315-pound defensive lineman from Montgomery did not see the field in either of his first two years at Alabama.
A former 4-star recruit out of Robert E. Lee High School, Barnes was considered the 12th-best player in the state of Alabama and the No. 35 defensive lineman, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He is now the ninth player from the Tide’s 2021 signing class to transfer.
