Alabama went 1-1 this past week, dominating then-No. 21 Mississippi State at home and losing to then-No. 5 Tennessee on the road on a buzzer-beating shot. The 1-1 week caused the Crimson Tide to drop in this week’s AP Poll, going from No. 6 to No. 7.

Alabama remains in contention for a 1-seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, and can clinch a double-bye in the SEC Tournament with a win over Florida this coming Wednesday. Only two regular season games remain for the Crimson Tide, the aforementioned game against the No. 5 Gators, and the regular season finale at No. 1 Auburn on Saturday.

The last two games of the regular season will be the sixth and seventh consecutive ranked teams Alabama has played down the stretch. That streak could continue to grow depending on matchups in the SEC Tournament.

The SEC has eight teams ranked in this week’s poll as it continues its historic year. Those teams include No. 1 Auburn, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 5 Florida, No. 7 Alabama, No. 15 Missouri, No. 19 Kentucky, No. 22 Texas A&M and No. 25 Mississippi State.

Alabama’s game against Florida will tip off at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
