Alabama drops to No. 25 in latest AP Poll
The Alabama basketball team went 2-0 this past week, getting victories over Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Less than 48 hours ago, the Crimson Tide handed the Gamecocks a 90-71 loss. That means Alabama is 5-1 over its last six games. And yet, the team still saw its ranking drop a spot in the latest AP Top-25, which was released on Monday morning.
Alabama (19-10, 9-7 SEC) dropped from No. 24 to 25 with Iowa moving ahead of them. How we’re not sure. The Hawkeyes beat a respectable Michigan State team 86-60 on Tuesday, but the Spartans have dropped five of their last seven games. Still, a 26-point win against a squad that beat No. 8 Purdue on Saturday must’ve been enough. The other win came against Nebraska, who is 8-21 on the season.

The Crimson Tide do have a few ugly losses on their resume, especially that loss to Georgia back in January. That remains the only conference win for the Bulldogs. But with that said, Alabama has five wins over teams currently ranked in the top-15, including two top-3 teams in Gonzaga (No. 1) and Baylor (No. 3). The other wins include No. 13 Tennessee and two teams tied for No. 14, Arkansas and Houston.
