Alabama football announces date for 2023 A-Day Game
The 2022 season is now over for the Alabama football team, which means the focus immediately shifts to 2023 for a majority of the fanbase. Afer falling short of another College Football Playoff appearance for a second-straight year, the entire program is right there with them in that line of thinking.
It might feel a little early, but we now know the next time the Crimson Tide will be on the field in a game-like situation with fans in attendance. On Thursday, the school announced the 2023 Golden Flake A-Day Game would take place on Saturday, April 22. As of right now, that’s the only information available.

What we do know is that as always, admission will be free to the public. Alabama describes the annual spring game as “the 15th and final practice of the spring that takes place at Bryant-Denny Stadium.” Really, it acts as the third and final scrimmage, but it’s actually open to the public.
Last year, Alabama’s A-Day Game included rain, which limited the quarterbacks and passing attacks quite a bit. This year, fans will have to hope that the weather cooperates, as there’s a quarterback battle on the horizon with two-year starter Bryce Young moving on to the NFL.

That battle will be between redshirt sophomore Jalen Milroe and redshirt freshman Ty Simpson.
Of course, that isn’t the only position battle to keep an eye on. As things sit, Alabama is looking to replace its left tackle, starting running back, top pass rusher, defensive signal-caller and a whole lot more. Those openings instantly makes this spring more intriguing.
