Alabama football falls in latest Coaches Poll following loss to A&M
Alabama football lost its first game of the 2021 season on Saturday night after losing to Texas A&M 41-38 in College Station.
The Aggies were fresh off two consecutive losses to Arkansas and Mississippi State while the Tide were sitting atop of both polls. In the end, that didn’t mean much as far as the end result.
On Sunday, the latest edition of the Coaches Poll was released with Alabama dropping to No. 5. Georgia, on the other hand, took over the top spot after beating No. 19 Auburn 34-10.
The fall wasn’t quite as far as some had predicted, as the Tide remain in striking distance for yet another College Football Playoff spot. Here’s the rest of the top-25 rankings following Saturday’s action.

The good news for Alabama is the season isn’t over. All of the team’s goals heading into the year can still be achieved. In fact, the Tide are still in control of their own destiny with A&M already having two conference losses.
Next up, it will be Mississippi State. Alabama will travel to Starkville to take on the Bulldogs at 6 p.m. CT on Oct. 16. The game will air on ESPN.
