Alabama football lands nation-leading six players on AP All-America teams
On Monday morning, the Associated Press revealed its preseason All-America team for the 2022 season. Alabama led the way with six total selections, and four of those six were tabbed with a first-team status.
Three of the first-team selections came on the defensive side of the football. That list included outside linebacker Will Anderson, as well as defensive backs Jordan Battle and Eli Ricks. The other first-team selection was reigning Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young.

The second team included Jahmyr Gibbs, as an all-purpose back, and offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor. Between Gibbs and Ricks, that makes two of Alabama’s five transfer additions a preseason All-American. I’d say that’s a pretty good rate.
