TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 4 Alabama (3-0) will face the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) tonight in its first SEC game of the year at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium (6:49 p.m. on ABC).
The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will square off for the 74th time, and Alabama leads the all-time series, 43-26-4. The last meeting occurred on Dec. 2, 2023, in Atlanta, and the Tide clinched its 30th SEC championship following its 27-24 win last season. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has never faced Georgia during his head coaching career. UGA’s Kirby Smart is 1-5 against the Tide and is 0-1 in his only other appearance in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama owns an 85-80-1 all-time record against teams ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll. Since the start of the 2008 season, the Tide has posted a 36-14 overall record against top-10 teams, including a 21-8 mark versus the top 10 since the inception of the College Football Playoff. In 14 previous matchups against ranked competition, DeBoer is 12-2.
Since 2008, the Crimson Tide is 15-1 in SEC home openers, and Alabama has outscored its league opponents 635-240 (39.7-15.0 ppg) in those games. The Crimson Tide’s lone loss in an SEC home opener since 2008 came against Ole Miss, 43-37, on Sept. 19, 2015.

— On 1st and 20, Jalen Milroe avoids the rush and takes off for a 16-yard gain to bring up 2nd and 4 at the UGA 9.

— Jalen Milroe keeps it for a 7-yard rushing score.
— Que Robinson starts the game at Wolf over Qua Russaw.
— Carson Beck dials up a deep shot, but Arian Smith can’t come down with it. UA freshman Zabien Brown was in coverage and was replaced by fellow frosh Jaylen Mbakwe.
— UGA flagged for offensive PI after an obvious push-off. Flag brings up 3rd and 21 from the Alabama 24.
— Ryan Williams is back deep to return Georgia’s first punt.
— Justice Haynes rips off a 23-yard run to start UA’s second series.
— Three plays and Alabama is down to the Georgia 21. First-down gains by Justice Haynes, Ryan Williams and Kendrick Law.
TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 14, UGA 0 (4:39)
— Jalen Milroe hits Jam Miller on a wheel route out of the backfield for a 16-yard score.
— Domani Jackson picks off Carson Beck, and Alabama will take over at the UGA 22. What a damn start.
TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 21, UGA 0 (2:21)
— Germie Bernard with a 7-yard rushing score.
— Alabama’s defense forces a three-and-out. Georgia will punt from its own 27 with 0:52 left in the 1Q.
SECOND QUARTER
— Alabama tried a double pass, from Jalen Milroe to Kendrick Law, but no one was open and Law takes a 1-yard loss. Can’t win them all.
— On 4th and 1, Alabama goes for it and Jalen Milroe scores. Hell of a block by Jam Miller to spring it.
TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 28, UGA 0 (12:24)
— Jalen Milroe with a 36-yard rushing score, his second rushing TD, third overall tonight.
— As if there was any doubt: Georgia at Alabama is a sellout. 100,077.
— On 4th and 1 at its own 45, UGA goes for it and moves the chains. This is the first time the Dawgs have been in Tide territory (48).
— Nice throw by Carson Beck to hit Arian Smith between two DBs. The Bulldogs are now in the red zone.
TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 28, UGA 7 (6:43)
— Georgia RB Trevor Etienne scores from 8 yards out.
— Justin Jefferson is limping to the locker room with 6:43 until half.
— An unnecessary roughness flag on Tyler Booker wipes away a 21-yard reception for CJ Dippre. But Jalen Milroe picks up 26 yards with his legs on the next play to UGA’s 42.
— After a review, Germie Bernard’s completion is overturned. That’s the first incomplete pass of the night for Jalen Milroe (11-of-12).
— On 4th and 1 at the Georgia 34, the Tide goes for it, but the Bulldogs stop Jam Miller short of the line to gain. UGA takes over with 2:59 left in the first half.
— Jihaad Campbell picks off Carson Beck and returns it to the UGA 25. Two INTS for Alabama’s defense.
— The ball is knocked out of CJ Dippre’s hands and into the UGA defender. Dawgs take over at the Alabama 5 with 1:54 left in 1H.

SAFETY: Alabama 30, UGA 7 (1:39)
— Refs throw late flag on intentional grounding on Carson Beck in the Georgia end zone.
— A block in the back moves a nice return from Cole Adams back to the Alabama 25. The Tide has 1:31 left in the second quarter.
— Kalen DeBoer is livid that a flag for pass interference wasn’t thrown. Alabama will punt from UGA’s 48.
THIRD QUARTER
— Kendrick Law just emerged from the locker room. He’s walking gingerly and doesn’t have his helmet.
— Deontae Lawson sacks Carson Beck for an 11-yard loss to force UGA into a three-and-out.
— Germie Bernard can’t bring in a third-down pass from Milroe, and the teams exchange three-and-outs to open the 2H. Alabama will punt from its own 32-yard line.
— Jihaad Campbell stops Carson Beck short of the sticks to bring up 4th and 1 at the UGA 29. Dawgs quickly line up to go for it and pick up the first in their own territory.
— Jihaad Campbell is favoring his shoulder after making a tackle on a play that was brought back by a penalty. But he stays in the game.
— On 4th and 3 at the UGA 37, the Dawgs move the chains again. They’re 3-3 on fourth down.
— DeVonta Smith gets attention from UA trainers before jogging off under his own power. He heads straight to the medical tent.
— On 4th and 5 at the UGA 46, the Dawgs go for it and Carson Beck’s pass sails incomplete. But officials flag Deontae Lawson for PI. Current UGA drive: 12 plays, 36 yards

— Carson Beck hits Arian Smith for a 12-yard score. The 2-point conversion is good.
— Jalen Milroe looks deep for Ryan Williams for a 54-yard gain to the UGA 13. Williams is now over 100 yards (102) on five receptions.

FOURTH QUARTER
— Georgia converts on 4th and 6. Dawgs now 4-4 on fourth down.
— Qua Russaw forces a Carson Beck fumble, Jah-Marien Latham recovers it and Alabama takes over at the Georgia 47-yard line.
— Alabama goes three-and-out after the turnover, and James Burnip will punt from his own 42-yard line. A well-placed punt gets by UA’s coverage team and bounces into the end zone for a touchback.

— Jalen Milroe finds Cole Adams over the middle for a 15-yard gain and a much-needed first down.
— Jalen Milroe’s third-down pass to Ryan Williams is incomplete, and UA will punt from its own 43 with 7:23 left to go in the fourth quarter.
— Carson Beck with back-to-back big throws (30, 47 yards), and UGA is down to the Alabama 1-yard line.
TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 33, UGA 28 (5:39)
— Dillon Bell scores a 3-yard rushing TD to cut the Tide lead to one score in the final frame.
