TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 4 Alabama (1-0) will host South Florida (1-0) tonight at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide and Bulls will face off at 6 p.m. CT (ESPN).

Alabama and South Florida will meet for the third time in series history when the two teams square off this evening. The Crimson Tide currently holds a 2-0 advantage in the series with the last meeting coming last year in Tampa, a 17-3 win for UA. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has never faced the Bulls during his head coaching career. South Florida’s Alex Golesh will be facing the Crimson Tide for the second time as a head coach and is 0-1.

PREGAME

— Kalen DeBoer to CTSN on Kadyn Proctor: “Probably looking right now like he won’t be suited up for the game. … Really hoping for next week, for sure, that he’s good to go.”

— There are a ton of former Alabama players on the field and sidelines for pregame warmups. One of the first I spotted was Julio Jones.

— First OL through pregame drills: Tyler Booker, LT; Geno VanDeMark, LG; Parker Brailsford, C; Jaeden Roberts, RG; Wilkin Formby, RT. Kadyn Proctor and Elijah Pritchett are both in uniform. Pritchett went through reps with the Tide’s twos.

FIRST QUARTER

— Alabama wins the toss and elects to defer to the second half. USF will receive the opening kickoff.

— Jihaad Campbell almost had an INT, but the PBU leads to a FG attempt for USF after a 12-play drive.

FIELD GOAL: USF 3, Alabama 0 (11:26)

— Bulls strike first on a 34-yard make by John Cannon.

— The Alabama offense goes three-and-out to start tonight’s game.

— Defense gets off the field on its second series. USF will punt from its own 26. Cole Adams to return.

— Jalen Milroe looks deep for Ryan Williams, and the Bulls are flagged for PI. After the penalty, Alabama is at the South Florida 47-yard line.

— Parker Brailsford’s helmet came off again. That’s twice on this drive and three times in two games. Roq Montgomery checks in at center.

— Holding flag on Geno VanDeMark wipes away a Justice Haynes TD.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 7, USF 3 (5:08)

— Jalen Milroe on a direct QB run from 9 yards out.

— Byrum Brown has an arm. He’s had open receivers three times so far in the first quarter, but he hasn’t been able to connect down the field.

— Alabama’s third drive ends in a three-and-out, and the Tide will punt from its own 13-yard line.

— Byrum Brown with the longest play of the game thus far, a 20-yard run to the Alabama 43. Two plays later, Que Robinson drops him for a sack to force a 2nd and 17 from the 40.

SECOND QUARTER

— Jalen Milroe is slow to get up after taking a shot from a free rusher. A flag is thrown for intentional grounding, bringing up 3rd and 28. He’s then sacked to force 4th and 38 from Alabama’s own 37.

FIELD GOAL: Alabama 7, USF 6 (9:45)

— John Cannon with his second make of the day (25 yards).

— Jalen Milroe looks deep for Kobe Prentice, who makes the catch and draws PI. But there was also a holding call on offense. Big play wiped off the board for Alabama.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 14, USF 6 (3:28)

— Jalen Milroe with his second rushing TD (5 yards).

— Much-needed three-and-out for the Alabama defense. USF will punt from its own 28 with 2:40 left to play in the second quarter.

— A 74-yard TD by Jalen Milroe … is coming back. Another holding call on Wilkin Formby. That’s tough…

— On 4th and 3 at the UA 45, USF lines up to go for it, attempts to draw Alabama offsides and fails. A delay of game penalty means the Bulls will punt from midfield with 0:29 to go in the first half.

THIRD QUARTER

— Kendrick Law had a big return on the opening kickoff of the 2H, but he fumbled the ball and USF was able to recover it. Bulls at the 47.

— John Cannon attempts a 53-yard field goal, but it’s short. Alabama will take over at its own 35.

— Jalen Milroe tries to escape the USF pass rush but can’t and is dropped for an 18-yard loss. The Tide will punt from its own 21.

— Jam Miller fumbles it, and South Florida recovers it at the UA 39.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 14, USF 13 (9:35)

— Ta’Ron Keith makes it a 1-score game with a 2-yard run.

— Jalen Milroe evades the rush and has to throw it away on 3rd and 7 at the UA 28. James Burnip will trot out for his sixth punt tonight.

— Tim Keenan manhandles his man right into Byrum Brown’s lap for a sack. USF punts from its own 25.

— Jalen Milroe faces pressure on 3rd and 5 once again and has to throw it away. The offense is struggling.

— Keon Sabb saves a big USF run from being a potential TD. But the Bulls see a big play negated by penalty — to the crowd’s delight.

— Alabama dials up a screen to Jam Miller, but the pickup is coming back due to a block in the back.

FOURTH QUARTER

— Cole Adams stayed down after catching a pass for a first down. He gets up and is favoring his right arm.

— Jalen Milroe lines up under center on 3rd and 2 and fumbles the snap. USF recovers it inside the UA 5.

— Defense forces a three-and-out, and USF will punt from its own 14. Jaylen Mbakwe is back deep to return the punt with Adams out.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 21, USF 13 (10:04)

— Offense! Milroe to Kobe Prentice for a 16-yard score.

— Two plays and USF is into Tide territory. Justin Jefferson counters with a big hit on Brown for a sack. Hit is under review for targeting.

— Justin Jefferson is ejected for targeting. He’ll have to miss the first half of game at Wisconsin.

FIELD GOAL: Alabama 21, USF 16 (6:45)

— John Cannon with his third make of the night (22 yards).

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 28, USF 16 (5:50)

— Jalen Milroe hits Ryan Williams for 43-yard score.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 35, USF 16 (2:30)

— Jam Miler rips off a 56-yard scoring run.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 42, USF 16 (1:37)

— Justice Haynes rips off a late 29-yard TD.
