KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 7 Alabama (5-1, 2-1 SEC) will take on No. 11 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1) at Neyland Stadium this afternoon. The game will kick off at 2:45 p.m. CT on ABC.

This year’s Third Saturday in October rivalry game will mark the 107th meeting between these two programs. The Crimson Tide owns a 60-38-8 advantage, including a 27-21-1 mark in Knoxville. Alabama came out on top, 34-20, in the most recent meeting on Oct. 21, 2023, while the Vols claimed a 52-49 win in 2022, the last time the teams played in Knoxville. 

The Crimson Tide has won 16 of the last 17 matchups with the Volunteers, with the only loss coming in 2022. Alabama has not lost back-to-back games in Knoxville since 2004 and 2006 and has not fallen to Tennessee in consecutive games at any location since 2003-04.

PREGAME

— Keon Sabb and Yhonzae Pierre are dressed out and going through pregame warmups after both were listed as game-time decisions. Kendrick Law is also warming up for the second week in a row.

— Alabama wins the toss and elects to receive the opening kickoff.

FIRST QUARTER

— Kendrick Law and Cole Adams are back deep for the opening kickoff.

— Jam Miller starts the game at RB. Justice Haynes had started the first six games.

— Rough start for the offense, which will punt from its own 14 on 4th and 21.

— Keon Sabb starts the game at safety.

— Dylan Sampson fumbles, and the Alabama defense recovers it. Vols were driving but turn the ball over. The Tide takes over at its own 18.

— Shoestring tackle keeps Jalen Milroe from a long touchdown run. Still, it moved the chains on 3rd and 1.

— Jalen Milroe hits Ryan Williams on 3rd and 5 for a 15-yard pickup. Tide is into Tennessee territory.

— Alabama punts from midfield after Milroe and Williams can’t connect on 3rd and 16. Tennessee gets the ball at its own 14-yard line.

— Nico Iamaleava’s deep shot on third down falls incomplete, and UT goes three-and-out, will punt from its own 13-yard line.

— A nice return by Cole Adams gives Alabama the ball at the Vols’ 49.

— Ryan Williams took a shot but hangs on to move the sticks. The Tide is down to Tennessee’s 35.

— Kendrick Law’s first touch results in a 20-yard gain to the Vols’ 15.

— Jalen Milroe is picked off in the end zone, and Tennessee returns it 54 yards to the Alabama 46-yard line.

— Red Morgan comes up limping after a deep shot from Iamaleava and is replaced by King Mack.

— Jaylen Mbakwe is flagged for pass interference on 3rd and 13. Vols have it at Alabama’s 42-yard line.

— The Vols miss a 53-yard field goal. Alabama takes over at its own 36.

SECOND QUARTER

— On 3rd and 12, Jalen Milroe’s pass to Cole Adams falls incomplete, but Tennessee is flagged for PI. A big break for Alabama, who’s now at the Volunteers’ 38-yard line.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 7, Tennessee 0 (13:01)

— Second time is the charge. Jalen Milroe looks for Ryan Williams in the end zone (5 yards).

— Bray Hubbard is in the game at safety for Tennessee’s fourth possession, in place of Keon Sabb.

— Nico Iamaleava stayed down after a backward pass. After review, he was ruled down. Iamaleava walked off under his own power and went straight to the medical tent.

— Gaston Moore is now in the game at quarterback for Tennessee.

— Malachi Moore intercepts Gaston Moore’s first pass attempt of the game and returns it to UT’s 38.

— On 3rd and 19, Jalen Milroe faces pressure, gets rid of it and is called for intentional grounding. The Tide is bumped back to its own 41 and will punt with 9:18 left in the 2Q.

— Nico Iamaleava is back in the game.

— Tennessee was in the red zone, but Alabama pressured Nico Iamaleava into a pick by Jaylen Mbakwe. The Tide takes over at its own 12.

— Alabama goes three-and-out after Jalen Milroe is quickly flushed from the pocket and can’t complete the pass to Caleb Odom. After the punt, the Vols have it at their own 30.

— Keon Sabb is down. He’s already left the game once and is getting attention from trainers. He can’t put much pressure on his right leg.

— Tim Smith is flagged for hands to the face, giving Tennessee the ball at the Alabama 36. That was the Tide’s ninth first-half penalty.

— Alabama bats Nico Iamaleava’s third-down pass, and Tennessee will attempt a long field goal.

— The Vols miss a 50-yard field goal and UA takes over at its own 32.

— Tennessee calls its first timeout with 1:30 left in the first half. UA faces a 3rd and 4 at the UT 40.

— On 4th and 1 at the UT 37, UA lines up under center and Jalen Milroe keeps it. Vols celebrate a stop but the officials rule it a first down.

— Three straight incompletions for Alabama, who calls a timeout with 40 seconds left in the first half. Graham Nicholson is warming up for a long field goal attempt.

— Graham Nicholson’s 54-yard field goal try is short. It’s still Alabama 7, Tennessee 0 with 0:34 to go in the second quarter.

— LT Overton sacks Nico Iamaleava, and the Vols will take it to halftime.

THIRD QUARTER

— Keon Sabb is back on the field for the start of the third quarter. Bray Hubbard is in the game, too, as the third safety with Sabb and Moore.

— Keon Sabb breaks up a deep shot from Nico Iamaleava. He tried to connect with Squirrel White, but Sabb made a nice play on the ball.

— Deontae Lawson sacks Nico for a 10-yard loss to force 3rd and 20.

— Tennessee punts from its own 37 as the Alabama defense gets off the field to open the second half.

— Four straight runs for Jam Miller, and Alabama picks up 23 yards and a couple of first downs. Would ya look at that.

— Jaeden Roberts comes up gimpy and will be replaced at RG by Geno VanDeMark. Alabama already had Wilkin Formby at RT on this drive.

— Jalen Milroe is stopped short of the line to gain on 3rd and 5 and the Tide will punt from its own 47.

— Dylan Sampson rips off a 36-yard run down to the Alabama 38. Vols had 66 rushing yards before that.

— Nico Iamaleava scrambles for a 27-yard pickup to the Alabama 9.

— Jihaad Campbell is flagged for PI. Vols face 1st and Goal at the 2.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 7, Tennessee 7 (6:32)

— Dylan Sampson ties the game with a 2-yard run.

— PI and offsides penalties on the Vols, and Alabama is now into UT territory. One play later, Kendrick Law picks up 18 to the Vols’ 25.

— Jalen Milroe targets Ryan Williams in the end zone on back-to-back throws, but both fall incomplete. Here comes another FG attempt.

FIELD GOAL: Alabama 10, Tennessee 7 (3:11)

— Graham Nicholson boots a 35-yarder through the uprights to retake the lead.

— On 3rd and 6, Nico Iamaleava hits Dont’e Thornton deep for a 55-yard gain to Alabama’s 3-yard line.

TOUCHDOWN: Tennessee 14, Alabama 10 (1:00)

— UT takes a lead on a 3-yard run by Dylan Sampson.

— Germie Bernard picks up the first down and adds 15 yards to the end of the run due to a Vols face mask.

FOURTH QUARTER

— Jam Miller picks up a first down but jogs off limping. He’ll get attention from trainers on Alabama’s bench.

TOUCHDOWN: Alabama 17, Tennessee 14 (13:56)

— Justice Haynes gives the Crimson Tide back the lead with a 7-yard rushing score.

— On 3rd and 10 at the Alabama 45, the Vols pick up a first down on a pitch, but Tennessee was flagged for holding. Third and 5 upcoming.

— Tennessee punt is downed inside the 5. Alabama takes over at its own 4, up 17-14, with 10:13 to go.

— Jalen Milroe avoids the rush but his third-down pass falls incomplete. Alabama will punt from its own 8 with 8:44 left in the ballgame.

— Another Nico Iamaleava deep shot falls incomplete on 3rd and 5, but Alabama is penalized for holding, giving the Vols a fresh set of downs.

TOUCHDOWN: Tennessee 21, Alabama 17 (5:52)

— Nico Iamaleava to Chris Brazzell for a 17-yard score to retake the lead in the final quarter.
