Alabama football stays at No. 1 in latest AP Poll after Week 1
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — First, it was the Coaches Poll coming out on Tuesday with Alabama (1-0, 0-0 SEC) still sitting at No. 1. Now, the AP Poll has followed suit despite No. 2 Georgia (1-0) getting an impressive victory over a now unranked Oregon squad this past Saturday.

Unfortunately, Texas still isn’t ranked in the top 25 for the AP Poll. The Coaches Poll had them at No. 22, but they’re still not quite there in the AP. Still, this road trip for the Crimson Tide in Week 2 is considered to be a tough test for the national title favorites.

Eight SEC teams are currently in the AP top 25. Of the seven remaining outside of Alabama, four of them are on the Crimson Tide’s upcoming schedule, including Texas A&M (No. 6), Arkansas (No. 16), Ole Miss (No. 22) and Tennessee (No. 24).
This is the first appearance in the top 25 for the Vols.
