TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — As of Monday morning, the official Alabama football roster has been updated one more time before the start of spring practice. With things set to get underway later on Monday afternoon with the Crimson Tide holding their first of 15 practices, the transfers and other new arrivals were given their new jersey numbers.

Here are what those updates look like, starting with the transfers:

Number updates for transfers

WR Malik Benson – No. 11 (JUCO)

LB Trezmen Marshall – No. 17 (Georgia)

LB Justin Jefferson – No. 28 (JUCO)

TE CJ Dippre – No. 81 (Maryland)

Number updates for freshmen

DB Caleb Downs – No. 2

QB Eli Holstein – No. 10

QB Dylan Lonergan – No. 12

WR Cole Adams – No. 13

WR Jaren Hamilton – No. 16

DB Brayson Hubbard – No. 18

RB Justice Haynes – No. 22

DB Jahlil Hurley – No. 25

DB Tony Mitchell – No. 27

DB Dezz Ricks – No. 29

DL Hunter Osborne – No. 33

DL James Smith – No. 47

LB Qua Russaw – No. 49

OL Miles McVay – No. 54

OL Roq Montgomery – No. 55

OL Olaus Alinen – No. 73

OL Kadyn Proctor – No. 74

OL Wilkin Formby – No. 75

WR Jalen Hale – No. 82

TE Ty Lockwood – No. 89

DL Jordan Renaud – No. 90

DL Edric Hill – No. 94

As of right now, none of the returning players have elected to switch numbers prior to the start of spring practice. With no one currently donning the No. 6 or the No. 9 following the departures of Bryce Young, Jordan Battle and Trey Sanders, I’d expect that to change in the future. After the conclusion of spring last year, several of Alabama’s young players made a switch.

Wide receiver Kendrick Law went from No. 83 to No. 19. Now former wide receiver Aaron Anderson switched from No. 82 to No. 13. Offensive lineman Tyler Booker changed from No. 54 to No. 52 so incoming transfer Tyler Steen could take keep his No. 54. And those are just some of the changes. I’m sure we’ll see something similar prior to the start of fall camp in August.

Stay tuned for more football updates following Alabama’s first spring practice on Monday.
