Alabama sophomore forward Jarin Stevenson is planning to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reports.

Stevenson spent two years with the Crimson Tide, originally reclassifying to the 2023 recruiting cycle and coming in as a 4-star, top-40 recruit. The 6-foot-11 stretch forward was one of the youngest players in college basketball his freshman year, turning 18 years old just before the season began.

He played a minor role as a freshman, but exploded onto the national scene with a 19-point performance in the Elite Eight to help send Alabama to the Final Four in 2024. He declared for the NBA Draft at the end of the season to receive feedback, but ultimately returned for another year.

During his sophomore season, Stevenson was given a slightly larger role. He started 22 of Alabama’s 37 games over the course of the year, and played close to 19 minutes per game. Despite the additional playing, his stats stayed roughly the same, averaging 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and shooting 30.7 percent from beyond the arc this year. He made significant strides on the defensive end, proving capable of defending perimeter players with his versatility.

Stevenson is the third Alabama player to enter the portal, joining Naas Cunningham and Mo Dioubate. He will have two years of eligibility wherever he ends up next, but is still on the young side, not turning 20 until October.
