Alabama guard Latrell Wrightsell not expected to play vs. Tennessee
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. is expected to miss his fourth straight game due to a head injury, according to the Crimson Tide Sports Network’s pregame show. Wrightsell was in uniform and took part in warmups but is not likely to play.
On Friday, Alabama coach Nate Oats said Wrightsell is “doing really well” and “getting much better,” according to the team’s medical staff, as he goes through concussion protocol.
“When he can play, they’re gonna let me know he can play,” Oats said. “I don’t have an answer yet on that, but hopefully, it’s here pretty quick.”
Wrightsell suffered the head injury last Monday during practice and has not played in contests against Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss and now Tennessee. No. 14-ranked Alabama (20-8, 12-3 SEC) will welcome the No. 4 Volunteers (22-6, 12-3) to Coleman Coliseum for a battle between teams tied for first place in the SEC standings with three games to play.
