Alabama guard Mark Sears has been named SEC co-player of the week for his play in two road wins for the Crimson Tide last week, the Southeastern Conference announced on Monday afternoon. Florida’s Alex Condon was the conference’s other co-player of the week.

Sears played some of his best basketball of the season over the past two games. He scored 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting while dishing out six assists in the Crimson Tide’s 20-point road win over South Carolina on Wednesday, and followed it up with a 27-point performance in a road win over No. 10 Texas A&M on Saturday night.

His performance against the Aggies on Saturday tied a season-high in scoring, matching his performance against Creighton from back in December.

After coming into the season with massive expectations and a slow start to the year in November, Sears has regained his All-American form from a year ago. He’s currently averaging 19.1 points, 4.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds on the season, shooting 41.4 percent from the floor and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc.

This week, No. 4 Alabama has two games against ranked opponents: a home game against No. 21 Ole Miss on Tuesday and a road game against No. 8 Kentucky on Saturday.
