Alabama issues first player availability report for Auburn game
Alabama Football issued its first availability report of the week on Wednesday evening.
The No. 13 Crimson Tide (8-3, 4-3 SEC) will welcome Auburn (5-6, 2-5) to Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 30. The Iron Bowl rivalry game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. (ABC).
There were no surprises on Alabama’s initial availability report of the week. Only four players were listed and all four are set to miss the remainder of the Crimson Tide’s season – safety Keon Sabb, wide receiver Cole Adams and linebackers Que Robinson and Deontae Lawson. Lawson joins the others after suffering a lower-extremity injury at Oklahoma.
“We’ll lose him for the season with a season-ending injury,” said Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer on Monday. “Just an amazing leader, chosen team captain by the team. I can see not just what he means to us on the field but just the love that our players have for him, especially those that have been through multiple years.
“Seeing what he pours into it, I know we all feel for him. We appreciate everything he’s been doing. Obviously, you greatly miss what he does on the football field, but love having that guy in the locker room leading your team. So thinking about him.”
Under the new rules, Alabama and Auburn are required to update their availability reports on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as 90 minutes before the game on Saturday.

SEC Availability Report Policies
Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.
Prior to a Saturday football game, an institution must issue the Initial Report on Wednesday by 7 p.m. CT and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday (after the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m.). On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time.
Designated Participation Statuses
If an institution has knowledge that a student-athlete may not be able to participate in the upcoming game for any reason (including, but not limited to, injury, illness, suspension, ineligibility, or personal matter), the institution must accurately designate the student-athlete’s participation status on the Initial Report as follows:
– Out – Will not play / 0% chance to play
– Doubtful – Unlikely to play / 25% chance to play
– Questionable – Uncertain to play / 50% chance to play
– Probable – Probable to play / 75% chance to play
