Alabama issues first player availability report for Georgia game
Alabama Football issued its first availability report of the season Wednesday night, ahead of Saturday night’s SEC opener and highly-anticipated matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs.
The No. 4-ranked Crimson Tide (3-0) and No. 2 Bulldogs (3-0) are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 28, in Tuscaloosa. The game will be broadcast live by ABC.
Alabama saw three players suffer injuries in its last game, Week 3 at Wisconsin, including a pair of defensive starters. Safety Malachi Moore, linebacker Qua Russaw and running back Richard Young all left the win in Madison and did not return. A couple of other players who have missed time include wide receiver Cole Adams and linebacker Jeremiah Alexander.
Neither Moore nor Adams were included on the availability report, meaning they should be ready to go. Head coach Kalen DeBoer hinted at that on Wednesday’s call-in radio show.
“As far as just injuries that are going to be season-ending or anything like that, we’re in a really good spot,” DeBoer said at Baumhower’s Victory Grille.
Under the league’s new rule, Alabama and Georgia are required to update their availability reports on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as 90 minutes before kick on Saturday.
