Alabama Football issued its first availability report of the week on Wednesday evening.

The No. 7 Crimson Tide (4-1, 1-1 SEC) is scheduled to host South Carolina (3-2, 1-2) Saturday, Oct. 12, at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on ABC.

In Alabama’s 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt, wide receiver Kobe Prentice exited the game in the first half and never returned. Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer offered an update on Prentice as well as wide receiver Kendrick Law, who missed last week’s game because of injury.

“Both of them are out here going through workouts,” DeBoer said. “On track like we thought they should be, making progress towards the weekend. I wouldn’t say they’re a full-go yet, but they’re on pace like we had hoped. Getting some work in, some individual and some team work there, too. It’s progressing along, and they’re doing a good job.”

Linebacker Yhonzae Pierre also appeared on the availability report after undergoing surgery.

Last week, Alabama linebacker Justin Jefferson was ruled a game-time decision and did not play in the loss to the Commodores. However, he was not on this week’s availability report.

Under the new rules, Alabama and South Carolina are required to update their availability reports on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as 90 minutes before kick on Saturday.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

Prior to a Saturday football game, an institution must issue the Initial Report on Wednesday by 7 p.m. CT and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday (after the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m.). On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time.

Designated Participation Statuses

If an institution has knowledge that a student-athlete may not be able to participate in the upcoming game for any reason (including, but not limited to, injury, illness, suspension, ineligibility, or personal matter), the institution must accurately designate the student-athlete’s participation status on the Initial Report as follows:

– Out – Will not play / 0% chance to play

– Doubtful – Unlikely to play / 25% chance to play

– Questionable – Uncertain to play / 50% chance to play

– Probable – Probable to play / 75% chance to play
