Alabama lands two players on SEC All-Freshman team
The Southeastern Conference announced its All-Freshman team on Thursday afternoon, with Alabama receiving two selections.
Wide receiver Ryan Williams was selected at two positions, both wide receiver and all-purpose, while cornerback Zabien Brown was its lone selection on defense.
Williams was also named a first team All-SEC selection, one of two receivers named to the first team. He finished the year with 45 catches for 857 yards and eight touchdowns. Brown spent the entire season as a starting cornerback and recorded two interceptions on the year, one to seal the game against Georgia and the other in the season finale against Auburn.
In total Alabama had seven different players named to All-SEC teams: Williams, linebacker Jihaad Campbell, defensive back Malachi Moore and offensive lineman Tyler Booker on the first team, offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor on the second team, and linebacker Deontae Lawson on the third team, all in addition to Williams’ and Browns’ All-Freshman team selections.
