Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell declares for 2025 NFL Draft
Alabama junior linebacker Jihaad Campbell has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
“I feel I am ready now to take the next step in my career,” Campbell said in a statement shared on social media. “I have been blessed to make it to this point, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me. With that, I will officially be declaring for the NFL draft.
“Bama Nation – I will miss you. We have the greatest fans in college football and your support these three years has meant the world to me. Forever, Roll Tide!”
A two-year starter at inside linebacker, Campbell led the Crimson Tide defense in tackles in Year 3 in Tuscaloosa. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound defender recorded 117 total tackles in 2024, including a team-high 54 solo stops. Campbell also paced UA’s defense with 11.5 tackles for loss and five sacks, while contributing two forced fumbles and one interception in Year 3.
Campbell was selected as a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America this season. He was also recognized as a first-team All-SEC honoree by the conference’s head coaches as well as a second-team All-SEC performer by the Associated Press.

Campbell appeared in 35 games and 21 starts over his 3-year career at Alabama. The versatile linebacker finished his tenure with the Tide with 184 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks to go along with seven pass breakups, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He returned one fumble for a score against Tennessee in 2023.
The Erial, New Jersey native was a 5-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Campbell attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and was the No. 17 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 2 edge rusher. A one-time Clemson commit, he committed to Alabama over the Tigers, Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set for Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26, in Green Bay.
