Alabama making run at Peach State lineman
Alabama has two early offensive line commitments in the 2025 class after Mason Short, four-star from Evans High School in Georgia and Dontrell Glover, four-star from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, announced for the Crimson Tide earlier this month. Alabama is also prioritizing another Peach State lineman.
Brayden Jacobs, four-star offensive tackle from Buford High School in Georgia (recently transferred from St. Francis in Alpharetta), received an offer from Alabama in December. He took his first visit to Tuscaloosa in January for Junior Day, and returned for the A-Day game this past weekend.
“I thought the visit was really cool,” Jacobs told BamaInsider. “It was cool seeing all the fans. The stands were packed. I thought both teams looked good. It was just a really good game in general. I thought the offensive line played really well. They played fast.”
Jacobs has grown almost two inches in height since his first encounter with the Alabama coaching staff. He now stands close to 6-foot-7, 318-pounds. He spoke with Nick Saban and offensive line coach Eric Wolford during the return visit.
“Coach Saban was just hoping that I was having fun,” the rising junior said. “He talked about how he likes me and wants me to come back as often as I can. He wants me to come back this summer.
“I like Coach Wolford. I like the O-line drills he has for his players. I’ve done a lot of them before. I think it’s a good thing knowing what I’d be doing before I go there (if Jacobs decides to commit to Alabama). They help you lot.”

NFL legacy with high interest in Alabama
Jacobs has received 26 scholarship offers including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas. He does not list any early favorites. He visited Alabama twice, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and South Carolina so far this year.
His father, 2x NFL Super Bowl champion running back Brandon Jacobs, played at Auburn before transferring to Southern Illinois. Both of his parents attended Auburn, but Jacobs did not grow up a fan of the Tigers. That may bode well in the future for the Crimson Tide.
“What I like about Alabama is they have been a really good team for years and years and years,” Jacobs said. “They never really get any worse. They have consistently won for a very long time. They recruit the right people.”
It’s still early in the recruiting process. He does not appear in any rush to announce a decision. Jacobs will visit several schools this summer including a return to Tuscaloosa where he will work with Coach Wolford. Alabama will prioritize certain offensive linemen in the ’25 class. Jacobs, along with David Sanders who was also at the Tide’s spring game, are considered priorities.
