Alabama names players of the week; SEC honors Eboigbe, Reichard
The Alabama coaching staff named seven players of the week to eight spots following the Crimson Tide’s 26-20 win at Texas A&M last Saturday. Isaiah Bond, Jermaine Burton and Jalen Milroe on offense; Chris Braswell, Justin Eboigbe and Tim Keenan III on defense; and Braswell and Will Reichard on special teams were all selected for their efforts against the Aggies.
OFFENSE
Isaiah Bond
- Caught seven of his nine targets for 96 yards and a touchdown
- Converted five first downs to go with a 52-yard score
- Averaged 13.7 yards per reception with his 52-yarder representing the long play by either team
Jermaine Burton
- Caught an Alabama career-high nine passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns
- Was targeted 13 times and converted seven first downs
- Led the Crimson Tide in targets, receptions and receiving yards
- Averaged 21.9 yards per catch against the Aggies with explosive plays of 45, 21, 15, 46 and 19 yards
Jalen Milroe
- Finished 21-of-33 passing for a career-high 321 yards and three touchdowns to go with an interception
- Completed at least one pass to six different UA receivers on the day
- Added eight rushes with a long carry of 12
DEFENSE
Chris Braswell
- Recorded five tackles in SEC Western Division matchup
- Contributed one sack (-3 yards) while adding a quarterback hurry
- Helped the Tide post 5.0-plus sacks for the third time in the last four games
Justin Eboigbe
- Registered five tackles, including two solo stops and a quarterback hurry
- Posted a team-high 1.5 sacks (-10 yards), including the key sack in the Aggie end zone for a safety
- Helped limit A&M to just 306 yards of total offense and only 67 yards on the ground
Tim Keenan III
- Recorded eight tackles to lead the Tide defense
- Posted one tackle for loss (-6 yards) and one sack (-6 yards) on the day
- Played a key role late in the game as the UA front seven continually pressured the Aggie quarterback
SPECIAL TEAMS
Chris Braswell
- Blocked a Texas A&M field goal, plowing through the right side of the line to block the kick
- Scooped up the blocked kick and returned the loose ball
Will Reichard
- Was perfect again kicking, nailing his only field goal attempt from 39 yards and hitting three extra points
- Also stepped in at punter following an injury to James Burnip
- Racked up 165 yards on four punts to average 41.2 yards per boot with a long punt of 45
- Averaged 61.4 yards across five kickoffs with two touchbacks
SEC recognizes Eboigbe, Reichard
Alabama’s Justin Eboigbe and Will Reichard each earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced on Monday. Eboigbe was named the Defensive Lineman of the Week while Reichard was tabbed the Special Teams Player of the Week.
The weekly conference honors are the first for each veteran and the Tide’s fifth and sixth this season.

Justin Eboigbe
- Controlled the line of scrimmage for the Crimson Tide in the 26-20 win at Texas A&M
- Registered five tackles, including 1.5 sacks (-10 yards), one of which was the sack that resulted in a safety late in the fourth quarter
- Also contributed one quarterback hurry on the day
Special Teams Player of the Week
Will Reichard
- The Tide’s starting placekicker tacked on punting duties midway through the win in Bryan-College Station
- Came on to punt four times with an average of 41.2 yards per boot
- Had a long punt of 45 and pinned the Aggies inside their own 20 on one occasion
- Made his lone field goal from 30 while adding three PATs from his usual placekicker spot
- Also kicked off five times to average 61.4 yards per kick with two touchbacks
