The season hangs in the balance for No. 11 Alabama this week as it travels on the road to take on No. 14 LSU in Death Valley. Both teams come off a bye, and enter November with two losses each. Whichever team loses will be effectively eliminated from contention in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff, while the winner will remain alive in the ever-shrinking race for a berth.

According to FanDuel, Alabama is a 2.5-point favorite over LSU on Saturday, despite being on the road. The Crimson Tide can be bet at -130 on the moneyline, while the Tigers are +108.

Alabama is currently 4-4 against the spread on the season, coming off a game where it covered a 3-score spread against Missouri two Saturdays ago. The last time the Crimson Tide was a road favorite was on Oct. 19 against Tennessee, a game Alabama lost outright, 24-17.

LSU has been slightly worse against the spread than Alabama this season, holding a 3-5 mark against the number through eight games. The last time the Tigers were a home favorite, they covered a 21.5-point spread against South Alabama back in early October. LSU has failed to cover the spread in three of four SEC contests this year.

This will be Alabama’s first trip back to Tiger Stadium since 2022, a game LSU won on a game-winning 2-point conversion in overtime.
