Alabama QB Jalen Milroe named a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was selected as a finalist for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation announced Wednesday.

Milroe, who is one of 16 finalists for the Campbell, will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship from the NFF. All finalists will be recognized on Dec. 10 at the 66th NFF Annual Awards Dinner at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with the winner being announced that night. If selected as this year’s honoree, the scholarship will increase to $25,000.

Alabama’s previous six finalists for the Campbell include Johnny Musso (1971), Randy Hall (1974), Steadman Shealy (1979), DeMeco Ryans (2005), Greg McElroy (2010) and Barrett Jones (2012), with Jones representing the Crimson Tide’s only winner in program history.

Quarterback (2021-present)

  • A two-time team captain who has helped Alabama to two College Football Playoff appearances and a pair of Southeastern Conference championships
  • Has accumulated 66 total touchdowns to date, throwing for 4,894 yards and 42 scores while rushing for 1,181 yards and 24 touchdowns
  • Graduated cum laude in December 2023 with a 3.52 grade-point average and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sports management
  • Earned a spot on the President’s List and Dean’s List multiple times while at the Capstone
  • Selected to the SEC Academic Honor Roll on three occasions
  • Named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team
  • A consistent contributor to the Tide’s community service efforts, Milroe volunteers his time in both the Tuscaloosa community and his hometown of Katy, Texas
  • Represented UA at the joint meeting of the SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
