Alabama RB Justice Haynes enters NCAA transfer portal
Alabama running back Justice Haynes has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reports. Haynes is the 12th Crimson Tide player to transfer during the 20-day window.
Haynes, a sophomore, has played in all 12 of Alabama’s regular-season games and has made six starts in Year 2. Haynes is the Crimson Tide’s third-leading rusher behind Jalen Milroe and Jam Miller, running for 448 yards and seven touchdowns on 79 carries. His 5.67 yards per carry average is for eighth place in the SEC. Hayne has also caught 17 passes out of the backfield and turned them into 99 yards. He is fourth on the team in receptions.
As a true freshman in 2023, Haynes rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. He was fourth in the Alabama running back pecking order but had one of his best games late in the Tide’s College Football Playoff matchup with Michigan – four carries for 31 yards.

Haynes is a native of Roswell, Georgia and was a top-50 prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was considered the No. 33 overall player and No. 2 running back in the class and chose Alabama over in-state Georgia, among others.
The 20-day portal window opened on Monday, December 9, and will close on Saturday, December 28. Due to a later bowl game, Alabama players will have five extra days to enter.
