Alabama receives 3-seed in SEC Tournament

AUBURN, Ala. — Alabama finished the regular season with a 13-5 record in conference play, locking the Crimson Tide into the 3-seed in the SEC Tournament.
As usual, the top four seeds in the conference received a double-bye in the tournament, meaning Alabama won’t have to play until Friday’s quarterfinal round. Auburn won the outright regular season title and earned the 1-seed at 15-3, Florida locked up the 2-seed at 14-4, and Tennessee rounded out the top-4 seeds with a 12-6 league record.
The Crimson Tide’s first game of the tournament will be at roughly 8:30 p.m. CT on Friday night, taking on the winner of 6-seed Kentucky and 11-seed Georgia/14-seed Oklahoma.
The Crimson Tide closed the regular season with a thrilling 93-91 overtime win over No. 1 Auburn on the road, winning the game on a buzzer beater.
“Hopefully, this will get our guys some confidence going into the SEC Tournament,” Oats said. “We’ve got the bye till Friday. We’ve gotta get our legs back up under us. We’ve gotta get our confidence back. And I think this is a big start.”
