Alabama remains in top-5 of AP Poll entering conference play

Alabama stayed put in this week’s AP Poll following a 105-82 win over South Dakota State on Sunday afternoon, remaining at the No. 5 spot.

The Crimson Tide is one of three SEC teams in the top-5 of the poll as conference play is set to begin this coming Saturday. The league has looked like the best in the country by a decent margin throughout non-conference play, and currently has 10 ranked teams.

Ranked SEC teams include No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Auburn, No. 5 Alabama, No. 6 Florida, No. 10 Kentucky, No. 12 Oklahoma, No. 13 Texas A&M, No. 17 Mississippi State, No. 23 Arkansas and No. 24 Ole Miss.

Alabama finished non-conference play with an 11-2 record, holding ranked wins over No. 14 Houston and No. – Illinois, with both losses coming to ranked teams in No. 9 Oregon and No. 20 Purdue

The Crimson Tide’s first game in SEC play will be a top-15 matchup at home against Oklahoma, with tipoff set for 5 p.m. CT.
