Alabama junior offensive tackle JC Latham has officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

“First off, I want to thank God for putting me in the position I am today,” Latham said in a statement. “These last 3 years in Tuscaloosa have been the best years of my life. I will always be thankful for Coach Saban and his staff for their commitment to developing me into the best version of myself both on and off the field.

“My teammates and I have built bonds that will last a lifetime and it’s been the greatest honor of my life taking the field with them for the past 3 years. I would also like to thank the fans and entire University of Alabama community. You guys make this place special and have made me feel right at home since Day 1.

“Most importantly, I want to thank my family for their constant unwavering support. My dream has always been to play in the NFL and the amount of sacrifices they have made to help me reach this goal can never be repaid. I am beyond blessed to have them in my corner.

“With that being said, I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Latham has started the Crimson Tide’s past 27 games at right tackle, or every game of his true sophomore and junior campaigns. This past year, Latham was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press, FWAA, The Sporting News and Walter Camp. He appeared in 40 career games, playing in 13 as a freshman reserve in 2021, before turning pro.

Latham arrived at Alabama from IMG Academy, where he was rated as the top offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. A unanimous 5-star recruit who hails from Oak Creek, Wis., Latham chose the Tide over schools like LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is Monday, Jan. 15. Latham joins Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner in entering their names in the draft a year early.

The 2024 NFL Draft is set for Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27, in Detroit.
