One of the more well-represented colleges at the all-star game is Alabama. Seven future members of the Crimson Tide’s football program have been preparing for this contest in Orlando the past few days, with four full practices having taken place since Friday.

BamaInsider takes a look at which Alabama signees are set to participate in this evening’s UA Next All-America Game.

Future Alabama players have showed out in Orlando

Several Alabama signees are not in Orlando this week due to injuries or other circumstances. Over a half-dozen players, including a five-star defensive back, are in the Sunshine State to represent the Crimson Tide.

2023 Under Armour All-America Game roster breakdown

DB Desmond Ricks (Team Phantom): Desmond Ricks was the last player to join Alabama’s 2023 class in December. On Dec. 22, the five-star defensive back committed to and signed with Bama over Florida and LSU. He’s currently tabbed as the No. 20 overall player on the On3 Consensus, as well as the No. 2 cornerback.

WR Jalen Hale (Team Speed): Hale currently checks in as the tenth-ranked receiver and the No. 51 overall prospect on the On3 Consensus. The Lone Star State pass catcher could vie for a significant bump in the final rankings update after a strong showing in Orlando. Hale was listed as On3’s No. 2 overall performer after his performance at the third practice of the event on Sunday.

“The Longview (Texas) High product is a smooth, coordinated mover and showcased some outstanding movement skills,” On3’s Charles Power wrote. “Hale drew on his basketball background, displaying a varied release package off the line of scrimmage. He hit defensive backs with a few crossovers in 1-on-1s and was able to separate within the route.”

DL Jordan Renaud (Team Speed): Similar to Hale, fellow Texas-based recruit Jordan Renaud also had a strong outing during the weekend. Renaud, a Florida native who played for Tyler Legacy High School in Texas, earned On3 MVP honors for his performance on Saturday.

Jordan Renaud Alabama Crimson Tide

“The Alabama signee’s burst and power proved largely unstoppable during the 1-on-1 and team periods,” Power said of Renaud. “Renaud consistently converted speed to power, using his bull rush to bully pass protectors. He’s also shown an impressive ability to bend underneath the extended arms of offensive tackles, even more notable given his well-built body type.”

OL Miles McVay (Team Speed): East Saint Louis (IL.) recruit Miles McVay committed to Alabama on Aug. 11, 2022, and never wavered on his decision. The four-star prospect officially put pen to paper on Dec. 21 and signed his Letter of Intent to play for Bama. Prior to that, he had participated in bowl prep with the Tide leading up to his arrival in Orlando on Thursday. The On3 Consensus lists McVay as a top-200 prospect and the No. 2 senior in the state of Illinois.

OL Olaus Alinen (Team Speed): Alinen finished up his season at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor (Conn.) in November. He proceeded to spend the next few weeks in his native Finland before returning to the United States of America for last week’s practices. Despite the long travel, Alinen has stood out in Orlando.

“Alabama signee Olaus Alinen was one of the more consistent performers along the offensive line for Team Speed,” Power wrote of Alinen in his Saturday top performers piece. “Alinen lined up at both tackle spots. He was steady in the run and pass game, showing the ability to create a push. He also flashed quality quickness and balance during the 1-on-1 period.”

RB Richard Young (Team Speed): Richard Young is one of the top recruiters for Alabama in the 2023 class. He’s also one of the top players that the program is welcoming to the fold this year. The On3 Consensus No. 4 running back has showcased both stellar recruiting efforts and solid football skills on the gridiron during his time in Orlando. He is expected to receive the start for Team Speed on Tuesday.

DB Tony Mitchell (Team Phantom): Tony Mitchell is listed as the sixth-ranked safety and the No. 63 overall player in the country. He missed Thursday’s hotel check-in (for media availability) due to a canceled flight, but has been in attendance for all practices. After the second practice, Mitchell spoke with BamaInsider about why he ended up sticking with Alabama and signing with them over Auburn and Texas A&M.
