Alabama still in pursuit of Clemson DL commitment

Peter Woods, Top-100 defensive lineman from Thompson High School in Alabaster, was considered a strong Alabama lean throughout the majority of his recruitment. Woods admits that he even expected to eventually commit to the Crimson Tide. The recruiting process started for Woods when he was only a freshman.  Woods grew up an Alabama fan, and in a diehard Crimson Tide household. He didn’t want that to be the deciding factor regarding his eventual commitment. He wanted to take time, develop relationships and make the best decision for his future. Many were surprised when Woods didn’t announce an early decision to Alabama. His parents are from the Tuscaloosa area. Woods has family in Tuscaloosa that he visits often.  He also has a lot of friends and former teammates who are student-athletes for the Crimson Tide. Still, he wanted to make his own decision and not feel pressured into making a quick commitment.
