Alabama TE Ty Lockwood to enter transfer portal
Alabama tight end Ty Lockwood plans to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported on Saturday afternoon.
Lockwood, a redshirt freshman, spent two seasons in Tuscaloosa. He was a 4-star recruit in the 2023 recruiting cycle, ranking as the No. 242 overall prospect and the No. 14 tight end in the class. He played in two games during his true freshman year, redshirting at season’s end.
This past season, Lockwood served as a reserve tight end, playing in five games and catching one pass for five yards against Mercer.

Alabama lost two other tight ends from the 2024 room this offseason, with CJ Dippre and Robbie Ouzts graduating. The Tide returns Josh Cuevas, Danny Lewis and Jay Lindsey from the 2024 room, while bringing in two tight end recruits out of high school.
The NCAA transfer portal’s 20-day window closed on Dec. 28, but is extended for five days for any team whose season ended after the initial closing of the window. A second, but brief, 10-day window will open from April 16-25.
