Alabama-Vanderbilt Preview: Did someone say trap game? Players poised for big Octobers
Top-ranked Alabama (4-0, 1-0 SEC) will travel to take on Vanderbilt (2-2, 0-1) in Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 5. It will be the Crimson Tide’s first SEC road game of the 2024 season.
The Week 6 road trip will mark Alabama’s first trip to the Music City since 2018, when the Tide dominated the Commodores, 59-0. But it will be UA head coach Kalen DeBoer’s first time facing Vanderbilt. Clark Lea, on the other hand, was on the opposing sideline when the ‘Dores visited Tuscaloosa in 2022 and suffered a 55-3 loss at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
More than a 3-touchdown favorite in this one, Alabama will look to avoid a letdown after its big win over then-No. 2 Georgia last weekend. Ahead of the conference contest, BamaOnLine staff members Charlie Potter, Blake Byler and Jimmy Stein discuss whether they think the Crimson Tide will be successful as Alabama ventures deeper and deeper into league play.
The Tide-related topics discussed by the guys include:
– Final thoughts on Alabama’s 41-34 win over Georgia.
– The Crimson Tide’s biggest area(s) for improvement.
– Is it a trap? The Vanderbilt game will be close if…
– Thoughts on the Commodores and Diego Pavia.
– Which Alabama player(s) could have a big October?
