TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 13 Alabama (8-3, 4-3 SEC) will welcome Auburn (5-6, 2-5) to Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium today at 2:50 p.m. CT. The rivalry game will air on ABC.
The Crimson Tide and Tigers will meet for the 89th time, and Alabama owns a 50-37-1 edge in the Iron Bowl and has won four in a row – but is tied with Auburn, 7-7, in Tuscaloosa. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will be coaching in his first Iron Bowl, while the Tigers’ Hugh Freeze is 2-4 against the Crimson Tide, including a 0-1 mark in his time at Auburn.

Tempers erupt after 'The Game'
With its win over Mercer on Nov. 16, Alabama has won 83 consecutive games against unranked opponents at home. The Crimson Tide’s last loss to an unranked foe at Bryant-Denny Stadium was on Nov. 17, 2007, in a 21-14 loss to ULM – Nick Saban’s debut season.

But just two plays later, Auburn attempted a double pass, and the second throw was picked off by Bray Hubbard to end the Tigers’ threat.

Milroe’s third rushing TD extends the lead
11/30/2024 05:08:35 PMAlabama’s defense forced its fourth three-and-out of the game, with a Tim Keenan sack highlighting the latest defensive stop, and Auburn punted the ball back to the Crimson Tide. Jalen Milroe found Germie Bernard for a 26-yard gain to the Tigers’ 24, and running back Jam Miller made it happen with an impressive effort in pass pro. Milroe then scored his third rushing touchdown (17 yards) to extend the Alabama lead.

Five plays later, Jalen Milroe went under center, faked the pitch and threw it back to CJ Dippre, who picked up 14 yards to the Auburn 10. Three plays later, Justice Haynes punched it in from two yards out to extend the Crimson Tide’s lead.

The Tigers got all the way down to the UA 1, but on 3rd and 1, Jihaad Campbell made a key tackle for loss. Auburn lined up to go for it but was flagged for a delay of game and attempted a 25-yard field goal. It was good.

Jalen Milroe looked the tight ends’ way three times on the series, with Josh Cuevas picking up 20 yards to the Auburn 27. The Tide moved the chains on 3rd and 7 with a 15-yard screen pass to Germie Bernard, and three plays later, Milroe scored his second rushing touchdown the day.

Keandre Lambert-Smith gained 18 yards and then Malcolm Simmons picked up 31 yards. The latter was aided by a late hit out of bounds by Malachi Moore, giving Auburn the ball at the UA 14. Moore made a big play later, though, forcing an incompletion on a long third-down attempt. Ian Vachon booted a 37-yard field goal through the uprights to put Auburn on the board

11/30/2024 03:23:04 PMAlabama made a change at right tackle, putting Wilkin Formby in the game for Elijah Pritchett. On the first play, Jam Miller ripped off a 14-yard run. Jalen Milroe moved the chains on 3rd and 2 three plays later and then called his own number again on a 19-yard touchdown run. He outran Auburn freshman DeMarcus Riddick on the play.

Auburn can’t capitalize on Tide turnover

The Tigers got down to the Alabama 21, but Malachi Moore had a big hit that forced an incompletion on 3rd and 9. On the next play, AU’s Ian Vachon missed a 39-yard field goal try to keep the game scoreless.

UA seemed to have a chunk play, as Ryan Williams hauled in a 19-yard catch from Jalen Milroe, but the freshman fumbled the ball and Auburn recovered it at its own 27-yard line.
