Alabama is dancing to the Sweet 16 for a third straight year and four out of the last five.

The Crimson Tide, the No. 2 seed in the East Region, will face 6-seed BYU on Thursday, March 27, in Newark, New Jersey. The NCAA Tournament matchup is scheduled to tip off at 6:09 p.m. CT and broadcast live on CBS, the network announced on Sunday evening.

Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson and Allie LaForce will be on the call at the Prudential Center.

Alabama (27-8, 13-5 SEC) opened the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a 90-81 win over 15-seed Robert Morris on Friday in Cleveland and defeated 7-seed Saint Mary’s, 80-66, in the Round of 32 on Sunday evening to advance to the Sweet 16. BYU (26-9, 14-6 Big 12) beat 11-seed VCU in Round 1, 80-71, and then upset 3-seed Wisconsin, 91-89, on Saturday.

“I’ve watched him a little bit here and there, but I haven’t dove in totally,” said Alabama coach Nate Oats. “I don’t know that I want to say it’s refreshing to go against somebody that plays like us because I think we’re really tough to guard, and we’ve led the country in scoring the last two years.

“I don’t think anybody is saying it’s refreshing to play Alabama, whoever is running the defense for the other team. I mean, in a way, maybe it’s not such a smash-mouth game like playing football out there like some of these teams, but they’re not easy to cover. He’s running great sets. They’ve got shooters all over the place. They’re good.

“We’re going to have to really lock in and coaches are going to have to really do a good job getting our guys ready and then our guys are going to have to execute the plan is whatever we decide to put in and we’re going to have to make adjustments to it because I’m sure he’ll make adjustments.

“I’m looking forward to playing in the Sweet 16.”

If the Tide wins its Sweet 16 matchup, it will take on the winner of Duke and either Arizona or Oregon on Saturday, March 29. Thursday’s Blue Devils’ game is at 8:39 p.m. on CBS.
