TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 4-ranked Alabama (18-3, 7-1 SEC) will welcome Georgia (15-6, 3-5) to Coleman Coliseum this afternoon for an SEC matchup. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will square off at 3 p.m. CT, and the conference game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Since Nate Oats arrived in 2019-20, Alabama has won a league-best 69 games in SEC play. The Tide has scored 100 or more points in six games this season, the most in Division I this year and second-most over the last 75 years. Mark Sears is the only player in the SEC to rank in the top five in scoring (No. 4, 18.0 ppg) and assists (No. 3, 5.1 apg). Aden Holloway has scored 10 or more points in 14 games coming off the bench, which leads the SEC.

Georgia was ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll for the first time since 2011 on January 13. Freshman forward Asa Newell leads the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game, which ranks 14th in the SEC and 12th in rebounding averaging 7.0 rebounds per contest. Georgia is allowing 66.1 points per game, which ranks fifth in the SEC and 47th in the nation.

Alabama freshman guard Labaron Philon, listed as questionable on yesterday’s initial report, is now a game-time decision. That means the “coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game,” according to the SEC. Latrell Wrightsell (Achilles) and Houston Mallette (knees) are out.
