NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 3-seed Alabama (24-7, 13-5 SEC) will take on No. 6-seed Kentucky (22-10, 10-8) tonight in the SEC Tournament’s quarterfinal round at Bridgestone Arena. The Crimson Tide and Wildcats face off in the last matchup of Day 3, which will begin 25 minutes after the 6 p.m. CT game ends, and the matchup will be broadcast on SEC Network.

This will mark the third meeting between Alabama and Kentucky this season. The Crimson Tide defeated the Wildcats in Lexington, 102-97, on January 18 and then again in Tuscaloosa, 96-83, in Tuscaloosa. It’s the first regular-season sweep of the Cats in front of full-capacity crowds since 1989. Kentucky enters Round 3 without Lamont Butler or Jaxson Robinson.

Alabama is looking to win its third SEC Tournament championship in the last five seasons under head coach Nate Oats. There was no SEC Tournament during the 2019-20 campaign, but the Crimson Tide has won two of the last four tournament titles (2020-21, 2022-23).

Senior guards Latrell Wrightsell (Achilles) and Houston Mallette (knees) were all ruled out and will not play against the Wildcats. But freshman forward Derrion Reid (hamstring) was listed as questionable on Thursday’s initial availability report. On the final availability report on Friday evening, however, Reid was listed as a game-time decision against Florida.

ESPN senior writer Pete Thamel reported there is “strong optimism” that he will play tonight.
