BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 11 Alabama (6-2, 3-2 SEC) will face No. 15 LSU (6-2, 3-1) at Tiger Stadium this evening. The pivotal conference game will kick off at 6:49 p.m. CT on ABC.
The Crimson Tide and Tigers will meet for the 89th time in series history tonight. Alabama holds the all-time series advantage with a 59-27-5 mark, including a 29-10-2 record at Tiger Stadium. UA earned a 42-28 win in the last matchup between the schools on Nov 4, 2023, in Tuscaloosa but fell, 32-31, in the latest pairing in Baton Rouge on Nov. 5, 2022.

11/09/2024 09:34:18 PMMilroe scored his fourth (!) rushing touchdown of the game on a 72-yard scamper to increase the lead and start to empty Tiger Stadium. In two starts against the Bayou Bengals, Milroe has rushed for 345 yards and eight touchdowns — and more importantly, two victories.

11/09/2024 09:26:56 PMJalen Milroe was sacked on 3rd and 8, but LSU was flagged for a face mask. Needless to say, the fans were not happy and started throwing trash onto the field. Now with the ball at the Tigers’ 47, Ryan Williams quickly picked up 22 yards on his first rushing attempt of the game. Milroe gave the Tide a 22-point lead with his third rushing touchdown three plays later.

Lawson picks off pass at the goal line
11/09/2024 09:20:06 PMLSU’s offense found a rhythm to begin the second half. Garrett Nussmeier scrambled for 14 yards on 3rd and 4 to keep the drive alive early. Then the Tigers moved the chains on a pair of fourth-down tries, the second being a Nussmeier pass to Mason Taylor to the Alabama 26. But the offense made another big play, as Deontae Lawson picked off Nussmeier at the goal line for a touchback.
The Tide did, however, see two starters leave the game with injuries. Que Robinson exited with a forearm injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. DeVonta Smith also walked off gingerly and was replaced at the Husky position by DaShawn Jones.
Strip sack leads to second Milroe TD
11/09/2024 08:16:32 PMJihaad Campbell made his second huge play of the game, sacking Garrett Nussmeier, who lost the football on the way down. Tim Smith recovered it at the LSU 32. Jalen Milroe picked up all 32 of the yards on his own, rushing for 22 yards and then a 10-yard touchdown. The latter gave Milroe the school’s single-season record for most rushing scores by a quarterback.

Tigers kick second field goal
11/09/2024 07:58:13 PMAfter forcing Alabama to punt for the first time tonight, LSU’s offense started to find some life. The Tigers ripped off three straight plays for double-digit gains. Tide cornerback Zabien Brown almost came up with an interception, but the play was flagged for roughing the passer (Tim Smith). LSU was penalized for holding two plays later and had to settle for a second Ramos field goals (43 yards).

11/09/2024 07:26:16 PMAlabama put together a nearly 7-minute drive to take a double-digit lead over LSU. The Tide only had two plays of double-digit yards, and one of those was a 20-yard gain by Jam Miller. The pass play was set up by a fake sweep to Kendrick Law. Justice Haynes capped the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Alabama holds LSU to a field goal
11/09/2024 07:05:57 PMLSU appeared well on its way to tying the game after a 50-yard kickoff return by Zavion Thomas and a 45-yard run by Caden Durham. But Domani Jackson saved a touchdown by stopping Durham at the 5-yard line. The next three plays were an incompletion, a run for a 1-yard loss and an incompletion. Jihaad Campbell had a key pass breakup on third down to force a 23-yard field goal.

Tide strikes first with a Milroe run
11/09/2024 06:56:09 PMAlabama was flagged for a false start before its first snap of the game, but the Tide overcame that rocky start to score on its opening drive. Jalen Milroe connected with Ryan Williams for a 19-yard gain on 2nd and 14, and then again with Kendrick Law for a 10-yard pickup on 3rd and 9. The latter moved Alabama into LSU territory. Three plays later, Milroe took off for a 39-yard touchdown run.

Veteran linebacker didn’t the trip
11/09/2024 06:16:04 PMAlabama linebacker Keanu Koht was one of 11 scholarship players who did not make the team’s travel roster. Outside of injured players like Keon Sabb, Cole Adams and Jalen Hale, Koht was the only player not in his first or second year who did not travel. Koht also did not play in the Crimson Tide’s Week 8 trip to Tennessee.
