Facing a 3rd and 12 at the 48, Milroe’s pass to Ryan Williams was too high, and UA punted.

First career picks for two Tide defenders

After some confusion from the officials, Alabama punted again following a running into the kicker penalty on the Tide and a personal foul on the Tigers.

Mizzou got the ball back at its own 41, but Pyne threw his third interception of the day, this one to Qua Russaw. It was the first picks of both Hubbard and Russaw’s careers. Second UA series ends in a sack

10/26/2024, 3:39:15 PM

Defense overcomes odd penalty

10/26/2024, 3:16:48 PM

The Alabama defense appeared to have forced a third straight three-and-out as LT Overton sacked Brady Cook on third down. But a flag for delay of game was thrown before the play, resulting in a personal foul on Overton. The defensive players didn’t seem to hear a whistle. The decision gave UM an automatic first down. Six plays later, though, the Tigers punted from the Alabama 49. Jaylen Mbakwe bobbled the punt but secured it at the Tide’s 7.

10/26/2024, 2:20:01 PM

The only change to the first group was Bray Hubbard at safety, replacing injured starter Keon Sabb. Hubbard and Malachi Moore were the safeties, DeVonta Smith was the Husky and Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown were the cornerbacks.

As for the second unit, Jaylen Mbakwe and Jahlil Hurley lined up on the boundary at corner, Red Morgan — who was a game-time decision — was the Husky and Kam Howard and Zay Mincey were the safeties. Mbakwe also got some first-team work during pregame warmups.
