“Probably won’t hit me until after the Final Four is over because I’m going to enjoy it tonight and we’ve got to figure out how to beat UConn,” said Alabama head coach Nate Oats after the win over Clemson. “They went on a 30-0 run I heard tonight. Is that correct? That’s unheard of in the Elite Eight. That’s crazy.”

Alabama and UConn last played last season, which was an 82-67 win for the Huskies in the Phil Knight Invitational. Before this season, the Crimson Tide’s previous deepest run in the NCAA Tournament was also ended by UConn as the Huskies eliminated Alabama in 2004 on their way to winning a national championship. This will be their third all-time meeting.
