Alabama WR Jaren Hamilton enters transfer portal
Alabama wide receiver Jaren Hamilton has entered the transfer portal following Alabama’s loss in the ReliaQuest Bowl, he announced Thursday on his Instagram story.
Hamilton is a redshirt freshman who has yet to record a catch in his two seasons with the Crimson Tide. He redshirted during the 2023 season as a true freshman appearing in two games against Middle Tennessee State and Chattanooga. During his redshirt freshman year in 2024 he appeared in three games: Western Kentucky, Wisconsin and Mercer.
A member of Alabama’s 2023 signing class, Hamilton was a 4-star recruit out of Gainesville, Florida and ranked in the top-300 nationally as an overall prospect according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He ranked as the No. 39 wide receiver in the class and the No. 55 player out of the state of Florida.
Hamilton is the fifth Alabama wide receiver to announce his plans to hit the portal this cycle, joining Kobe Prentice, Caleb Odom, Kendrick Law and Emmanuel Henderson. The Crimson Tide is expected to return its top wideouts in 2025 in Ryan Williams, while also returning veterans Cole Adams and Jalen Hale who are coming off injuries. Germie Bernard has an NFL Draft decision to make.

Alabama added two wide receivers in its 2025 signing class, 4-star Derek Meadows and 3-star Lotzeir Brooks.
The NCAA transfer portal’s 20-day window closed on Dec. 28, but is extended for five days for any team whose season ended after the initial closing of the window. A second, but brief, 10-day window will open from April 16-25.
