Alabama's Tim Keenan named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week

Alabama’s Tim Keenan earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday morning.

Keenan was named the defensive lineman of the week following a standout performance against USF on Sept. 7. The honor is the first for the junior lineman and the third for the Crimson Tide this season.

  • Crafted a career night against the Bulls
  • Recorded a career-high nine tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss (-12 yards) and 1.5 sacks (-10 yards)
  • Both his tackles for loss and sack totals now stand as career bests.
  • Led Alabama in tackles for loss and sacks while finishing third in total tackles at night’s end
  • Also managed one quarterback hurry, contributing to the Tide’s 10 total hurries in the game

Alabama’s Players of the Week for Game 2

The Alabama coaching staff announced its players of the week on Sunday, and this season, it is doing things a little differently. In addition to rewarding “skill” and “power” players on offense and defense, the Tide also recognized scout-team players in all three phases.
