TAMPA, Fla. – Alabama has updated its depth chart for the ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Michigan.

Eight players who were listed on Alabama’s two-deep depth chart for the Iron Bowl have since entered the transfer portal – Damon Payne, DeVonta Smith, Miles McVay, Justice Haynes, Emmanuel Henderson, Caleb Odom, Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice. Of those eight, four of them were either starters or co-starters – Smith, Haynes, Law and Prentice.

One of the most noteworthy changes is Jaylen Mbakwe being removed from the Tide’s depth chart on defense and being listed as a backup slot receiver behind fellow freshman Rico Scott. The backup cornerbacks behind starters Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown are DaShawn Jones and Red Morgan, who are also listed as the co-starters at the Husky.

Alabama only has five scholarship players at the three wide receiver positions. Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard remained the starting Z and X, while Scott and Jaren Hamilton were listed as their backups. Williams and Mbakwe are also the punt and kickoff returners.

Fifth-year senior safety Malachi Moore was also removed from the chart after undergoing surgery. Replacing the team captain in the starting lineup was true freshman Zay Mincey. Mincey started his rookie season at cornerback but started working with the safeties.

On the defensive front, Jah-Marien Latham is the co-starter at Bandit along with Qua Russaw, and that allowed for other defensive linemen to be added to the depth chart. Jordan Renaud and Tampa native Keon Keeley are listed as the backup Bandits behind LT Overton. Freshman Jeremiah Beaman is the backup nose tackle behind veteran Tim Keenan.

Starting right tackle Elijah Pritchett is also the backup left tackle Kadyn Proctor, who is expected to start the game despite dealing with a shoulder injury. Richard Young is the backup running back behind starter Jam Miller with Haynes transferring to Michigan.
