Spring stand outs – OL Kadyn Proctor

Proctor is a “first guy off the bus” type of player. Alabama has the Iowa native listed at 6-7, 354 pounds, making him the largest player on its roster. Former All-American tackle and top-10 NFL draft pick Evan Neal was listed at 6-7, 360 as a freshman, but somehow, Proctor looks even bigger. That might be due to him carrying a little more mass in his lower body.

Either way, it’s impressive.

Size isn’t the only thing Proctor has in common with Neal though. He’s also got impressive athleticism and movement skills for a player his size. We’ve only seen him playing right or left tackle this spring, but there’s still the possibility of a move inside. We saw a similar move late from tackle to guard last year with Tyler Booker, and the year before with JC Latham.

Whether he stays at tackle or not, we know the coaching staff is sky high on him.

As we mentioned in an article last week, one source has told BamaInsider that Proctor “has been much better at this point than they could’ve imagined.” Right now, it’s about finding a way to get the mammoth lineman onto the field. There hasn’t been quite as much buzz with Proctor as some of the others on this list, but I think you’ll see him in the starting lineup at some point in 2023.
