Alabama on Athlon’s 2022 All-SEC Team
The seven first-team players are quarterback Bryce Young, all-purpose back Jahmyr Gibbs, offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor, defensive lineman Byron Young, linebackers Will Anderson and Henry To’oTo’o and safety Jordan Battle. Gibbs also made it as a second-team kick returner, and he’s joined by wide receiver Jermaine Burton, linebacker Dallas Turner, cornerback Eli Ricks and kicker Will Reichard.

Tight end Cameron Latu and cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry were the only two to make it on the third team. Meanwhile, offensive lineman Javion Cohen, defensive lineman DJ Dale and defensive backs Brian Branch and DeMarcco Hellams all made the fourth team.
Last year, Alabama only had 16 players make the Athlon Sports preseason All-SEC Team, including five on the first team. That slight increase should speak to the overall talent on this year’s roster. Here’s how the 18 Alabama players are broken down by team:
